Position: Asphalt Superintendent – Heavy Highway & County – Houston, TX

Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of asphalt paving operations, including planning, scheduling, and execution, to ensure project completion on time and within budget.
- Lead and supervise project teams, including subcontractors, equipment operators, and laborers, maintaining a cohesive and productive work environment.
- Oversee site safety and ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety standards.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to align project goals and resolve on-site issues effectively.
- Review plans, specifications, and project requirements to ensure accurate and efficient construction.
- Monitor material usage, equipment performance, and labor allocation to optimize productivity and cost-effectiveness.
- Maintain detailed project documentation and provide regular progress updates to senior management.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in asphalt paving, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or superintendent role.
- In-depth knowledge of asphalt paving techniques, materials, and equipment for heavy highway and county road construction.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and maintain high performance under tight deadlines.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
- Familiarity with DOT specifications, local regulations, and best practices for road construction.
- Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred but not required.
